Psalms 39
- 1I said, I will pay attention to my ways, that I do not sin with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.
- 2I remained silent. I said nothing, even what was good, and my sorrow grew.
- 3My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then I spoke with my tongue,
- 4Lord, make me to know my end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am.
- 5You have made my days only a hand's width long. My age is as nothing before you: truly every man at his best state is only a breath. Selah.
- 6Surely every man walks in a vain show: surely they are troubled in vain: he heaps up riches, and does not know who shall gather them.
- 7And now, Lord, what wait I for? My hope is in you.
- 8Deliver me from all my rebellion: do not let fools mock me.
- 9I was silent and did not open my mouth, because you did it.
- 10Remove your stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of your hand.
- 11When you with rebukes do correct man for wrongdoing, you make his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is only a breath. Selah.
- 12Hear my prayer, O Lord, and listen to my cry, do not be quiet at my tears. For I am a foreigner with you, a temporary resident, as all my fathers were.
- 13O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go from here, and be no more.
What changed from the KJV
GIGAKJV is a modern English revision of the King James Version. The comparison below uses the project's KJV text in the later 1769 tradition and marks, word by word, each verse of Psalms 39 where the wording differs: struck-through words are the KJV's, highlighted words are GIGAKJV's.
