Psalms 27
- 1The Lord is my light and my salvation. Who shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life. Who shall I be afraid of?
- 2When the wicked, even my enemies and my foes, came on me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
- 3Though a host should camp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
- 4I have asked the Lord for one thing, and I will keep seeking it: to live in the Lord's house all the days of my life, to gaze on the Lord's beauty and to seek him in his temple.
- 5For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me. He shall set me up on a rock.
- 6And now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies around me: therefore I will offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy. I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.
- 7Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also on me, and answer me.
- 8When you said, "Seek my face," my heart said to you, "Your face, Lord, I will seek."
- 9Do not hide your face far from me. Put not your servant away in anger: you have been my help. Do not leave me, neither abandon me, O God of my salvation.
- 10When my father and my mother abandon me, then the Lord will take me up.
- 11Teach me your way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of my enemies.
- 12Do not deliver me over to the will of my enemies. For false witnesses have risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
- 13I would have fainted if I had not believed I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
- 14Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
What changed from the KJV
GIGAKJV is a modern English revision of the King James Version. The comparison below uses the project's KJV text in the later 1769 tradition and marks, word by word, each verse of Psalms 27 where the wording differs: struck-through words are the KJV's, highlighted words are GIGAKJV's.
