Isaiah 65
- 1I am sought of those who did not ask for me. I am found of those who did not seek me: I said, Look me, look me, to a nation that was not called by my name.
- 2I have spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, which walks in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts.
- 3A people who provokes me to anger continually to my face, that sacrifices in gardens, and burns incense on altars of brick.
- 4Which remain among the graves, and spend the night in the tombs, which eat pig's flesh, and broth of disgusting things is in their pots.
- 5Which say, Stand by yourself, do not come near to me. For I am holier than you. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burns all the day.
- 6It is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will pay them back, pay them back in full,
- 7Your wrongdoings, and the wrongdoings of your fathers together, says the Lord, which have burned incense on the mountains, and blasphemed me on the hills: therefore I will pay them back in full for what they did.
- 8The Lord says this, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, Do not destroy it. For a blessing is in it: so I will do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all.
- 9And I will bring descendants out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and my elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall live there.
- 10And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people who have sought me.
- 11But you are those who abandon the Lord, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering to that number.
- 12Therefore I will number you to the sword, and you shall all bow down to the slaughter. Because when I called, you did not answer. When I spoke, you did not hear. But did evil before my eyes, and chose that in which I did not delight.
- 13Therefore the Lord God my servants shall eat says this, but you shall be hungry. My servants shall drink, but you shall be thirsty. My servants shall rejoice, but you shall be ashamed:
- 14My servants shall sing for joy of heart, but you shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall wail from a broken spirit.
- 15And you shall leave your name for a curse to my chosen. For the Lord God shall kill you, and call his servants by another name:
- 16That he who blesses himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth. He who swears in the earth shall swear by the God of truth. Because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from my eyes.
- 17For I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, or come into mind.
- 18But be glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create. For I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
- 19And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, or the voice of crying.
- 20There shall be no more from there an infant of days, or an old man who has not filled his days. For the child shall die a hundred years old. But the sinner being a hundred years old shall be cursed.
- 21And they shall build houses, and inhabit them. They shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
- 22They shall not build, and another inhabit. They shall not plant, and another eat. For as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and my elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
- 23They shall not labor in vain, or have children only for trouble. For they are the descendants of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them.
- 24And it will happen, that before they call, I will answer. While they are yet speaking, I will hear.
- 25The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the young bull: and dust shall be the serpent's food. They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain, says the Lord.
What changed from the KJV
GIGAKJV is a modern English revision of the King James Version. The comparison below uses the project's KJV text in the later 1769 tradition and marks, word by word, each verse of Isaiah 65 where the wording differs: struck-through words are the KJV's, highlighted words are GIGAKJV's.
KJVI am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.
GIGAKJVI am sought of those who did not ask for me. I am found of those who did not seek me: I said, Look me, look me, to a nation that was not called by my name.

GIGAKJVIt is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will pay them back, pay them back in full,
KJVYour iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the Lord, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.
GIGAKJVYour wrongdoings, and the wrongdoings of your fathers together, says the Lord, which have burned incense on the mountains, and blasphemed me on the hills: therefore I will pay them back in full for what they did.

KJVBut ye are they that forsake the Lord, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.
GIGAKJVBut you are those who abandon the Lord, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering to that number.
KJVTherefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.
GIGAKJVTherefore I will number you to the sword, and you shall all bow down to the slaughter. Because when I called, you did not answer. When I spoke, you did not hear. But did evil before my eyes, and chose that in which I did not delight.
