Isaiah 52
- 1Awake, awake, put on your strength, O Zion. Put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city. For from now on there shall no more come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean.
- 2Shake yourself from the dust, arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose yourself from the bands of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
- 3For the Lord says this, You have sold yourselves for nothing. You shall be redeemed without money.
- 4For the Lord God says this, My people went down formerly into Egypt to stay there, and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.
- 5Now therefore, what have I here, says the Lord, that my people is taken away for nothing? Those who rule over them make them to howl, says the Lord. My name continually every day is blasphemed.
- 6Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he who does speak: it is I.
- 7How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, that publishes peace. That brings good news of good, that publishes salvation. That says to Zion, Your God reigns!
- 8Your watchmen shall lift up the voice. With the voice together shall they sing. For they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion.
- 9Burst into joy, sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem. For the Lord has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.
- 10The Lord has uncovered his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations. All the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
- 11Go away, go away, go out from there, touch no unclean thing. Go from among her. Be clean, that bear the items of the Lord.
- 12For you shall not go out in a hurry, or go by flight. For the Lord will go before you. The God of Israel will be your reward.
- 13My servant shall deal wisely, he shall be lifted high and praised, and be very high.
- 14As many were appalled at you. His face was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
- 15So he shall sprinkle many nations. The kings shall shut their mouths at him. For that which had not been told them shall they see. That which they had not heard shall they consider.
