Hebrews 3
- 1Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, sharers in the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of the faith we confess, Christ Jesus.
- 2Who was faithful to him who appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
- 3For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, since he who has built the house has more honor than the house.
- 4For every house is built by some man, but he who built all things is God.
- 5And Moses truly was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later.
- 6But Christ is faithful as a son over his own house. We are his house, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.
- 7Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, Today if you hear his voice,
- 8Do not harden your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness,
- 9When your fathers put me to the test, tried me, and saw my works forty years.
- 10Therefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They always go astray in their heart, and they have not known my ways.
- 11So I swore in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.
- 12Brothers and sisters, take care that none of you has an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
- 13But encourage one another every day, while it is called "Today," so that none of you is hardened by sin's deceit.
- 14For we are made sharers in Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence firm to the end,
- 15While it is said, Today if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts, as in the provocation.
- 16For some, when they had heard, did provoke. However not all who came out of Egypt by Moses did.
- 17But who was he grieved with for forty years? Was it not with those who had sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness?
- 18And who did he swear to that they should not enter into his rest, but to those who disobeyed?
- 19So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
What changed from the KJV
