Ezekiel 6
- 1And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
- 2Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them,
- 3And say, You mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God. The Lord God says this to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys. I, even I, will bring a sword on you, and I will destroy your high places.
- 4And your altars shall be ruined, and your images shall be broken: and I will cast down your killed men before your idols.
- 5And I will lay the dead bodies of the children of Israel before their idols. And I will scatter your bones all around your altars.
- 6In all your homes the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be ruined. That your altars may be laid waste and made a ruin, and your idols may be broken and stop, and your images may be cut down, and your works may be abolished.
- 7And the killed shall fall among you, and you shall know that I am the Lord.
- 8Yet I will leave a remnant, that you may have some that shall escape the sword among the nations, when you shall be scattered through the countries.
- 9And those who escape of you shall remember me among the nations where they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their prostitute heart, which has turned away from me, and with their eyes, which chase after their idols: and they shall hate themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their disgusting practices.
- 10And they shall know that I am the Lord, and that I have not said in vain that I would do this evil to them.
- 11The Lord God says this. Strike with your hand, and stamp with your foot, and say, Oh no for all the evil disgusting practices of the house of Israel! For they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the plague.
- 12He who is far off shall die of the plague. And he who is near shall fall by the sword. And he who remains and is besieged shall die by the famine: so I will accomplish my fury on them.
- 13Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when their killed men shall be among their idols all around their altars, on every high hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the place where they offered sweet aroma to all their idols.
- 14So I will stretch out my hand on them, and make the land a ruin, yes, more ruined than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all their homes: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
What changed from the KJV
GIGAKJV is a modern English revision of the King James Version. The comparison below uses the project's KJV text in the later 1769 tradition and marks, word by word, each verse of Ezekiel 6 where the wording differs: struck-through words are the KJV's, highlighted words are GIGAKJV's.

GIGAKJVIn all your homes the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be ruined. That your altars may be laid waste and made a ruin, and your idols may be broken and stop, and your images may be cut down, and your works may be abolished.

KJVAnd they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall lothe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.
GIGAKJVAnd those who escape of you shall remember me among the nations where they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their prostitute heart, which has turned away from me, and with their eyes, which chase after their idols: and they shall hate themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their disgusting practices.

KJVHe that is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus will I accomplish my fury upon them.
GIGAKJVHe who is far off shall die of the plague. And he who is near shall fall by the sword. And he who remains and is besieged shall die by the famine: so I will accomplish my fury on them.

GIGAKJVThen you shall know that I am the Lord, when their killed men shall be among their idols all around their altars, on every high hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the place where they offered sweet aroma to all their idols.
KJVSo will I stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land desolate, yea, more desolate than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all their habitations: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
GIGAKJVSo I will stretch out my hand on them, and make the land a ruin, yes, more ruined than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all their homes: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
