Ezekiel 35
- 1Also the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
- 2Son of man, set your face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it,
- 3And say to it, The Lord God says this. O mount Seir, I am against you, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you a ruin.
- 4I will lay your cities waste, and you shall be ruined, and you shall know that I am the Lord.
- 5Because you have had a lasting hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their disaster, in the time that their wrongdoing had an end:
- 6Therefore, as I live, says the Lord God, I will prepare you to blood, and blood shall pursue you: since you have not hated blood, even blood shall pursue you.
- 7So I will make mount Seir a ruin, and cut off from it him who passes out and him who returns.
- 8And I will fill his mountains with his killed men: in your hills, and in your valleys, and in all your rivers, shall they fall that are killed with the sword.
- 9I will make you ruins forever, and your cities shall not return: and you shall know that I am the Lord.
- 10Because you have said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it. Whereas the Lord was there:
- 11Therefore, as I live, says the Lord God, I will even do according to your anger, and according to your envy which you have used out of your hatred against them. And I will make myself known among them, when I have judged you.
- 12And you shall know that I am the Lord, and that I have heard all your blasphemies which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid waste, they are given us to consume.
- 13So with your mouth you have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.
- 14The Lord God says this. When the whole earth rejoices, I will make you a ruin.
- 15As you rejoiced at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was ruined, so I will do to you: you shall be ruined, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
What changed from the KJV
GIGAKJV is a modern English revision of the King James Version. The comparison below uses the project's KJV text in the later 1769 tradition and marks, word by word, each verse of Ezekiel 35 where the wording differs: struck-through words are the KJV's, highlighted words are GIGAKJV's.
KJVMoreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
GIGAKJVAlso the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
KJVSon of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it,
GIGAKJVSon of man, set your face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it,
KJVAnd say unto it, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate.
GIGAKJVAnd say to it, The Lord God says this. O mount Seir, I am against you, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you a ruin.
KJVI will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.
GIGAKJVI will lay your cities waste, and you shall be ruined, and you shall know that I am the Lord.
KJVBecause thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:
GIGAKJVBecause you have had a lasting hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their disaster, in the time that their wrongdoing had an end:
KJVTherefore, as I live, saith the Lord God, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee.
GIGAKJVTherefore, as I live, says the Lord God, I will prepare you to blood, and blood shall pursue you: since you have not hated blood, even blood shall pursue you.
KJVThus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth.
GIGAKJVSo I will make mount Seir a ruin, and cut off from it him who passes out and him who returns.
KJVAnd I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword.
GIGAKJVAnd I will fill his mountains with his killed men: in your hills, and in your valleys, and in all your rivers, shall they fall that are killed with the sword.
KJVI will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
GIGAKJVI will make you ruins forever, and your cities shall not return: and you shall know that I am the Lord.
KJVBecause thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the Lord was there:
GIGAKJVBecause you have said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it. Whereas the Lord was there:
KJVTherefore, as I live, saith the Lord God, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee.
GIGAKJVTherefore, as I live, says the Lord God, I will even do according to your anger, and according to your envy which you have used out of your hatred against them. And I will make myself known among them, when I have judged you.
KJVAnd thou shalt know that I am the Lord, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume.
GIGAKJVAnd you shall know that I am the Lord, and that I have heard all your blasphemies which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid waste, they are given us to consume.
KJVThus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.
GIGAKJVSo with your mouth you have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.
KJVThus saith the Lord God; When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate.
GIGAKJVThe Lord God says this. When the whole earth rejoices, I will make you a ruin.
KJVAs thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
GIGAKJVAs you rejoiced at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was ruined, so I will do to you: you shall be ruined, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
