Ezekiel 43
- 1Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looks toward the east:
- 2And the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.
- 3And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar. And I fell on my face.
- 4And the glory of the Lord came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.
- 5So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court. And the glory of the Lord filled the house.
- 6And I heard him speaking to me out of the house. And the man stood by me.
- 7And he said to me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will live among the children of Israel for ever, and the house of Israel shall no more defile my holy name, not they, or their kings, by their prostitution, or by the dead bodies of their kings in their high places.
- 8In their setting of their threshold by my thresholds, and their post by my posts, and the wall between me and them, they have even defiled my holy name by their disgusting practices that they have committed: therefore I have consumed them in my anger.
- 9Now let them put away their prostitution, and the dead bodies of their kings, far from me, and I will live among them for ever.
- 10You son of man, show the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their wrongdoings: and let them measure the pattern.
- 11And if they are ashamed of all that they have done, show them the form of the house, and its fashion, and the exits of it, and the comings in of it, and all its forms, and all its rules, and all its forms, and all its laws: and write it in their sight, that they may keep the whole form of it, and all its rules, and do them.
- 12This is the law of the house. On the top of the mountain the whole limit of it all around shall be most holy. This is the law of the house.
- 13And these are the measurements of the altar, using the same long measure: The base shall be 21 inches high, and the width 21 inches, and its border by its edge all around shall be 9 inches: and this shall be the higher place of the altar.
- 14And from the bottom on the ground even to the lower settle shall be 3½ feet, and the width 21 inches. And from the lesser settle even to the greater settle shall be 7 feet, and the width 21 inches.
- 15So the altar shall be 7 feet. And from the altar and upward shall be four horns.
- 16And the altar shall be 21 feet long, 21 feet wide, square in the four squares of it.
- 17And the settle shall be 24½ feet long and 24½ feet wide in the four squares of it. And the border about it shall be 10 inches. And its bottom shall be 21 inches about. And his stairs shall look toward the east.
- 18And he said to me, Son of man, the Lord God says this. These are the rules of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings on it, and to sprinkle blood on it.
- 19And you shall give to the priests the Levites that be of the descendants of Zadok, which approach to me, to minister to me, says the Lord God, a young bull for a sin offering.
- 20And you shall take of its blood, and put it on the four horns of it, and on the four corners of the settle, and on the border all around: this is how you shall cleanse and cleanse it.
- 21You shall take the bull also of the sin offering, and he shall burn it in the appointed place of the house, outside the sanctuary.
- 22And on the second day you shall offer a kid of the goats without any defect for a sin offering. And they shall cleanse the altar, as they cleansed it with the young bull.
- 23When you have made an end of cleansing it, you shall offer a young bull without any defect, and a ram out of the flock without any defect.
- 24And you shall offer them before the Lord, and the priests shall cast salt on them, and they shall offer them up for a burnt offering to the Lord.
- 25Seven days shall you prepare every day a goat for a sin offering: they shall also prepare a young bull, and a ram out of the flock, without any defect.
- 26Seven days shall they cleanse the altar and purify it. And they shall dedicate themselves.
- 27And when these days are expired, it shall be, that on the eighth day, and so forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings on the altar, and your peace offerings. And I will accept you, says the Lord God.
What changed from the KJV
GIGAKJV is a modern English revision of the King James Version. The comparison below uses the project's KJV text in the later 1769 tradition and marks, word by word, each verse of Ezekiel 43 where the wording differs: struck-through words are the KJV's, highlighted words are GIGAKJV's.
