Revelation 11
- 1And there was given me a reed like a rod. And the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and those who worship in it.
- 2But leave out the court outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it is given to the Gentiles. They will trample the holy city under foot forty-two months.
- 3And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy a thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in rough mourning clothes.
- 4These are the two olive trees, and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth.
- 5And if anyone wants to harm them, fire comes out of their mouth and devours their enemies. If anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner.
- 6These have power to shut heaven, so that it does not rain in the days of their prophecy. They have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they want.
- 7And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, and will overcome them, and kill them.
- 8And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
- 9And those of the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will see their dead bodies three and a half days, and will not let their dead bodies be put in graves.
- 10And those who live on the earth will rejoice over them, and celebrate, and will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who lived on the earth.
- 11And after three and a half days the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet. Great fear fell on those who saw them.
- 12And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, Come up here. And they went up to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies watched them.
- 13And in that same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand men were killed. The remnant were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
- 14The second disaster is past. The third disaster comes quickly.
- 15And the seventh angel sounded. There were loud voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever.
- 16And the twenty-four elders, who sat before God on their thrones, fell on their faces, and worshiped God,
- 17Saying, We give you thanks, O Lord God Almighty, who are, and were, and are to come, because you have taken your great power, and have reigned.
- 18The nations were angry, and your wrath has come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that you should give reward to your servants the prophets, and to the saints, and those who fear your name, small and great, and should destroy those who destroy the earth.
- 19And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of his covenant was seen in his temple. And there were lightnings, and voices, and thunder, and an earthquake, and great hail.
