1 Corinthians 6
- 1Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
- 2Do you not know that the saints shall judge the world? And if the world shall be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
- 3Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more things that belong to this life?
- 4If then you have judgments of matters of this life, set them to judge who are least valued in the church.
- 5I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? No, not one who shall be able to judge between his brothers and sisters?
- 6But one brother or sister goes to law with another, and that before the unbelievers.
- 7Now therefore there is completely a fault among you, because you go to law one with another. Why do you not rather take wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated?
- 8No, you do wrong, and cheat, and that your brothers and sisters.
- 9Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Sexually immoral people, idol worshipers, adulterers, effeminate, men who have sex with men,
- 10Thieves, greedy people, drunkards, revilers, and swindlers, shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
- 11And such were some of you. But you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
- 12All things are lawful to me, but not all things are beneficial. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
- 13Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods. But God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
- 14And God has both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
- 15Do you not know that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of a prostitute? God forbid.
- 16What? Do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For two, says he, shall be one flesh.
- 17But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.
- 18Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body. But he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
- 19What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, who you have received from God, and you are not your own?
- 20For you are bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
What changed from the KJV
GIGAKJV is a modern English revision of the King James Version. The comparison below uses the project's KJV text in the later 1769 tradition and marks, word by word, each verse of 1 Corinthians 6 where the wording differs: struck-through words are the KJV's, highlighted words are GIGAKJV's.
