1 Corinthians 5
- 1It is reported commonly that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.
- 2And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you.
- 3For I truly, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him who has so done this deed,
- 4in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
- 5to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
- 6Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough?
- 7Cleanse out therefore the old yeast, that you may be a new lump, as you really are without yeast. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us.
- 8Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old yeast, neither with the yeast of malice and evil, but with the bread of sincerity and truth, made without yeast.
- 9I wrote to you in a letter not to company with sexually immoral people.
- 10Yet not altogether with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the greedy, or swindlers, or with idol worshipers. For then you would need to go out of the world.
- 11But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone called a brother or sister who is sexually immoral, or greedy, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or a swindler. With such a one do not even eat.
- 12For why should I judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?
- 13But God judges those outside the church. Therefore remove that wicked person from among you.
What changed from the KJV
GIGAKJV is a modern English revision of the King James Version. The comparison below uses the project's KJV text in the later 1769 tradition and marks, word by word, each verse of 1 Corinthians 5 where the wording differs: struck-through words are the KJV's, highlighted words are GIGAKJV's.
