Philippians 3
- 1Finally, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is no trouble to me, but for you it is safe.
- 2Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation.
- 3For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
- 4Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinks he has reason to trust in the flesh, I more.
- 5Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews, concerning the law, a Pharisee.
- 6Concerning zeal, persecuting the church, concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
- 7But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
- 8Yes surely, and I count all things but loss compared to the far greater worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For him I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
- 9And be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.
- 10That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.
- 11If by any means I might attain to the resurrection of the dead.
- 12Not as though I had already attained, or were already perfect. But I follow after, that I may lay hold of that for which I am also laid hold of by Christ Jesus.
- 13Brothers and sisters, I do not count myself to have laid hold. But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching out to those things which are before,
- 14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
- 15Let us therefore, as many as are mature, be so minded. And if you think differently about anything, God shall reveal even this to you.
- 16But, to what we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
- 17Brothers and sisters, join in imitating me, and take note of those who walk this way, as you have us for an example.
- 18For many walk, and I have told you about them often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ.
- 19Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.
- 20For our citizenship is in heaven, from where also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 21Who shall change our lowly body, that it may be fashioned like his glorious body, according to the working by which he is able even to subdue all things to himself.
What changed from the KJV
GIGAKJV is a modern English revision of the King James Version. The comparison below uses the project's KJV text in the later 1769 tradition and marks, word by word, each verse of Philippians 3 where the wording differs: struck-through words are the KJV's, highlighted words are GIGAKJV's.
KJVFinally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.
