Galatians 5
- 1Stand fast therefore in the liberty with which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
- 2I Paul say to you, that if you are circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
- 3For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
- 4You who are justified by the law have been cut off from Christ. You have fallen from grace.
- 5For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
- 6For in Jesus Christ circumcision does not help anything, and uncircumcision does not help anything, but faith which works by love.
- 7You were running well. Who hindered you, that you should not obey the truth?
- 8This persuasion does not come of him who calls you.
- 9A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.
- 10I have confidence in you through the Lord, that you will not think otherwise. But he who troubles you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is.
- 11And I, brothers and sisters, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? Then the offense of the cross has stopped.
- 12I wish those who trouble you would even mutilate themselves.
- 13For, brothers and sisters, you have been called to liberty. Only do not use liberty as an occasion for the flesh, but by love serve one another.
- 14For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this. You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
- 15But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you do not consume one another.
- 16This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
- 17For the flesh desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. And these are contrary the one to the other, so that you cannot do the things that you would.
- 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
- 19Now the works of the flesh are plain to see, which are these: Adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, indecency,
- 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, conflict, jealousy, wrath, selfish ambition, divisions, factions,
- 21Envying, murders, drunkenness, wild parties, and such like. Of these I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
- 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,
- 23Gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
- 24And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
- 25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
- 26Let us not desire vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
