Zechariah 2
- 1I looked up again, and looked, and there was a man with a measuring line in his hand.
- 2Then I said, Where do you go? And he said to me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width, and what is its length.
- 3And the angel that talked with me went out, and another angel went out to meet him,
- 4And said to him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the great number of men and cattle in it:
- 5For I, says the Lord, will be to her a wall of fire all around, and will be the glory among her.
- 6Ho, ho, come out, and flee from the land of the north, says the Lord. For I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, says the Lord.
- 7Deliver yourself, O Zion, that live with the daughter of Babylon.
- 8For the Lord of Hosts says this. After the glory has he sent me to the nations which plundered you. For he who touches you touches the apple of his eye.
- 9For I will shake my hand on them, and they shall be plundered by their servants: and you shall know that the Lord of Hosts has sent me.
- 10Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion. For I come, and I will live among you, says the Lord.
- 11And many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and shall be my people: and I will live among you, and you shall know that the Lord of Hosts has sent me to you.
- 12And the Lord shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
- 13Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord. For he is raised up out of his holy home.
