Leviticus 23
- 1And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
- 2Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, Concerning the feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be sacred gatherings, even these are my feasts.
- 3Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, a sacred gathering. You shall do no work in it: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your homes.
- 4These are the feasts of the Lord, even sacred gatherings, which you shall proclaim in their seasons.
- 5In the fourteenth day of the first month in the evening is the Lord's passover.
- 6And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Bread Made Without Yeast to the Lord: seven days you must eat bread made without yeast.
- 7In the first day you shall have a sacred gathering: you shall do no regular work in it.
- 8But you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord seven days: in the seventh day is a sacred gathering: you shall do no regular work in it.
- 9And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
- 10Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, When you be come into the land which I give to you, and shall reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest:
- 11And he shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, to be accepted for you: the next day after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.
- 12And you shall offer that day when you wave the sheaf a he lamb without any defect of the first year for a burnt offering to the Lord.
- 13And the grain offering of it shall be 4 quarts of fine flour mixed with oil, an offering made by fire to the Lord for a sweet aroma: and the drink offering of it shall be of wine, a quart.
- 14And you shall eat no bread, or roasted grain, or green ears, until the same day that you have brought an offering to your God: it shall be a law for ever throughout your generations in all your homes.
- 15And you shall count to you from the next day after the sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering. Seven sabbaths shall be complete:
- 16Even to the next day after the seventh sabbath shall you number fifty days. You shall offer a new grain offering to the Lord.
- 17You shall bring out of your homes two wave loaves of 4 quarts. They shall be of fine flour. They shall be baked with yeast. They are the firstfruits to the Lord.
- 18And you shall offer with the bread seven lambs without any defect of the first year, and one young bull, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering to the Lord, with their grain offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet aroma to the Lord.
- 19Then you shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.
- 20And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the Lord, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the Lord for the priest.
- 21And you shall proclaim on the same day, that it may be a sacred gathering to you: you shall do no regular work in it: it shall be a law for ever in all your homes throughout your generations.
- 22And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not make clean riddance of the corners of your field when you reap, neither shall you gather any gleaning of your harvest: you shall leave them to the poor, and to the foreigner: I am the Lord your God.
- 23And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
- 24Speak to the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall you have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a sacred gathering.
- 25You shall do no regular work in it: but you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord.
- 26And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
- 27Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be a sacred gathering to you. You shall deny yourselves, and offer an offering made by fire to the Lord.
- 28And you shall do no work in that same day. For it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God.
- 29For whatever soul it be that does not deny himself on that day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
- 30And whatever soul it be that does any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.
- 31You shall do no manner of work: it shall be a law for ever throughout your generations in all your homes.
- 32It shall be to you a sabbath of rest, and you shall deny yourselves: in the ninth day of the month in the evening, from even to even, shall you celebrate your sabbath.
- 33And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
- 34Speak to the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days to the Lord.
- 35On the first day shall be a sacred gathering: you shall do no regular work in it.
- 36Seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord: on the eighth day shall be a sacred gathering to you. You shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord: it is a solemn assembly. You shall do no regular work in it.
- 37These are the feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be sacred gatherings, to offer an offering made by fire to the Lord, a burnt offering, and a grain offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, everything on his day:
- 38Beside the sabbaths of the Lord, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which you give to the Lord.
- 39Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep a feast to the Lord seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
- 40And you shall take you on the first day the fruit of fine trees, branches of palm trees, and leafy branches of thick trees, and willows of the brook. You shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days.
- 41And you shall keep it a feast to the Lord seven days in the year. It shall be a law for ever in your generations: you shall celebrate it in the seventh month.
- 42You shall live in booths seven days. All that are Israelites born shall live in booths:
- 43That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to live in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
- 44And Moses declared to the children of Israel the feasts of the Lord.
