Ephesians 2
- 1He has made you alive, you who were dead in offenses and sins.
- 2In which in time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience.
- 3Among them also we all had our conduct in times past in the desires of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
- 4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,
- 5Even when we were dead in sins, he made us alive together with Christ. By grace you are saved.
- 6And has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
- 7That in the ages to come he might show the overflowing riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
- 8For by grace you are saved through faith. And that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God.
- 9It is not from works, so that no one can boast.
- 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has prepared ahead of time that we should walk in them.
- 11Therefore remember, that you being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands,
- 12That at that time you were without Christ, being shut out from the nation of Israel, and outsiders to the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world.
- 13But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near by the blood of Christ.
- 14For he is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of partition between us.
- 15Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in rules, to make in himself of two one new man, so making peace.
- 16And that he might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, having killed the enmity by it.
- 17And came and preached peace to you who were far away, and to those who were near.
- 18For through him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
- 19Now therefore you are no longer outsiders and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God.
- 20And are built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone.
- 21In him all the building, fitted together, grows to a holy temple in the Lord.
- 22In him you also are built together to be a home for God through the Spirit.
