2 Thessalonians 3
- 1Finally, brothers and sisters, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run freely, and be glorified, even as it is with you.
- 2And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men. For not everyone has faith.
- 3But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil.
- 4And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you both do and will do the things which we command you.
- 5And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
- 6Now we command you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother or sister who walks disorderly, and not after the tradition received from us.
- 7For yourselves know how you ought to imitate us. For we did not behave ourselves disorderly among you.
- 8And we did not eat anyone's bread for free. Instead, we worked night and day with labor and hardship so that we would not be a financial burden to any of you.
- 9Not because we do not have the right, but to make ourselves an example to you to imitate us.
- 10For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if anyone is unwilling to work, he should not eat either.
- 11For we hear that there are some who walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
- 12Now those who are such we command and urge by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quiet they work, and eat their own bread.
- 13But you, brothers and sisters, do not be weary in well doing.
- 14And if any man does not obey our word by this letter, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
- 15Yet do not count that person as an enemy, but give a warning as to a brother or sister.
- 16Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
- 17I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. This is the identifying mark in every letter. This is how I write.
- 18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
