1. Quoting Policy

You may quote up to 1,000 verses of the GIGAKJV without written permission, provided that:

  • The verses quoted do not amount to a complete book of the Bible.
  • The verses quoted do not account for more than 50% of the total work in which they are quoted.

When quoting the GIGAKJV, the following copyright notice must appear on the title or copyright page of the work:

"Scripture quotations are taken from the Giga King James Version (GIGAKJV). Copyright © 2026 The GIGAKJV Project. Used by permission. All rights reserved."

For non-commercial and non-salable media (such as church bulletins, orders of service, slides, posters, or flyers), a complete copyright notice is not required, but the initials (GIGAKJV) must appear at the end of each quotation.

2. Trademark Notice

The terms "Giga King James Version"™ and "GIGAKJV"™ are claimed as common-law trademarks of The GIGAKJV Project. (No trademark registration is currently claimed; registrations are planned.)

  • You may not use these marks to describe any Bible translation text that has been modified from this official version without express written consent.
  • Publication of physical editions, commercial distribution, or competitive digital apps using these trademarks requires formal licensing.

3. Legal Foundation

The GIGAKJV is protected as a derivative work under United States Copyright Law (17 U.S.C. § 103) and international conventions.

The GIGAKJV text is produced from the public-domain 1769 King James Version by a documented, fully reproducible editorial method (published in the project's provenance records), together with original editorial contributions. Originality is claimed in:

  • The project's editorial method and house lexicon of modern word choices applied across all 66 books.
  • Hand-curated verse renderings recorded in the project's editorial records.
  • Original, bracketed operational insights, front matter, and the selection and arrangement of the edition's apparatus.

No text in the GIGAKJV is derived from any copyrighted modern translation. This is enforced by an automated audit that scans every published verse against known modern-translation renderings; the method and audit history are documented and available on request.

4. Copyright Concerns & Complaints

If you are a rights holder and believe any content on this site infringes your copyright, please see our Copyright Complaints & DMCA Policy. We investigate every claim and will modify any verse shown to overlap a proprietary rendering, normally within 48 hours.
